  • Acting towards changes in legal system (advocacy, awareness-raising actions, surveillance and solutions' development);
  •  Conducting research on migration, integration and intercultural relations,
  • Cultural education (kindergartens, schools, universities, public institutions, companies);
  • Promoting different cultures;
  •  Integration programs (empowerment- providing legal assistance during the procedure for legalization of stay; career counseling; providing psychological support to deal with the process of aculturation).

The INTERKULTURALNI PL Association is an independent and non-partisan, non-governmental organization founded in 2010 in Krakow by academics from various fields of science and different university affiliations to conduct activities in the field of cultural diversity, education and respect for human rights.

During 10 years of its activity, the Association has become nationally and supranationally recognized institution in the field of research on intercultural relations and migration studies. Due to their affiliations, the members of the Association cooperate with the Jagiellonian University and other universities on a daily basis, as wellas think-tanks in the country and abroad. Thanks to its' reputation Association became a partner of the University of Economics in Krakow as part of the Observatory ofMulticulturalism and Migration, an institution established to acquire research-based knowledge on migration for the needs of local government.

In its history organization has implemented a number of projects aimed at effective integration of migrants, education of the host society and promotion of non-European cultures. Many of them have become good practices worth repeating and implementing elsewhere. Some of these projects were considered good practice at the European level by the European Union Commission.

Currently, the Association is a partner in the ongoing MiCREATE project, conducted within the Horizon 2020 program framework, which aims to comprehensively examine the situation of children with experience of migration and their relations with local children.
Continuing the mission for effective intercultural education association has established cooperation with the Mikolaj Rej Foundation for the Support of Polish Language and Culture, co-creating the Academy of Intercultural Competences. Our experts are co-authors of the local, municipal integration strategy for migrants, adopted by the City Council in September 2016 as the "Open Krakow" Program. In 2021 the Association will be a partner in the next research project implemented under the Horizon 2020 program, led by University of Bologna under the name "New ABC".

At the moment, conducting mainly scientific activities, the employees of the Association also carry out numerous activities for the benefit of migrants and together with migrants, to name among the others: Małopolska Foreigners Friendly, financed by the Asylum, Migration andIntegration Fund. They co-create the Information Point for Foreigners in Krakow, being in charge of the legal advice department.

In 2016, the Association itself and the Vice-President of the Management Board were nominated for the "Złote Wachlarze" award, given by the International Organization for Migration to individuals and institutions distinguished in their activities for the benefit of migrants and migrant women. The Association is the laureate of the title of Krakow Ambassador of Multiculturalism A.D. 2018, and two members of the organization's Management Board were distinguished in 2018 with the Polcul Foundation Prize for activities for an open and multicultural society.
